Self-care is a buzzword as of late and is promoted but is it really practiced? Who has time to make themselves a priority? We have demands from our family, job, and social life. Who has me time? What if I told you 5 simple ways to get you on the path of being available for yourself.

1.        If you have a super stressful life, journaling can help you sort it out. Getting it off your chest does wonders for you. Reflecting on both positive and negative events brings clarity.

2.      Another way to unwind is lighting a candle or incense listening to soft music. You can set the mood by creating a playlist of your favorites. Some aromatherapy is great for calming the nerves. Just taking that moment to pause will refresh you.

3.      Yoga Nidra is a relaxing alternative. It does not involve traditional yoga poses but rather laying down and truly connecting with your body, mind, and breath, through a guided session.  You can practice this by going to a studio, using an app, or YouTube.

4.      If you are overwhelmed and want to lighten your load of responsibilities, there are plenty of ways to delegate. Here are some suggestions: hiring a cleaning service for your home, ordering take out, and using a laundry service, so you have less to worry about.
